Welcome From Our Manager

Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to read this welcome letter and for your interest in Rainbows Nursery and Preschool. My name is Sophie. I am the Nursery Manager. I have been with Rainbows for a long time, working my way up from a childcare practitioner to a managerial role.

We have a great team of hard-working, experienced staff who go far and beyond to provide the best possible experiences for our children from day one until they leave us to go to a big school.

Our bunch of friendly ladies have created a lovely extended family atmosphere at Rainbows. We love to laugh with the children, whilst challenging them to take that one step further to reach their next step. We understand the importance of fresh air, oral health, mathematics, and literacy in the early years and try to incorporate these areas of learning into daily activities. We have a saying amongst our staff: “There is never a dull moment at Rainbows, and never two days are alike”.

We understand that every child has different needs, so we take an individual approach to each family and work with you, trying to accommodate your wishes and requests. We like to involve our parents in nursery life and have a brilliant app called Famly that allows for direct communication with the child’s teacher and provides regular updates and news about individual rooms and the whole nursery.

Our priorities for the near future are to develop our own Forest School, extending further the outdoor learning opportunities for the children. We will be looking to make the most out of our local area, going for walks and getting involved in the local community. Also, watch out for our events with opportunities to meet other families and have fun.

Please do get in touch if you have any questions or would like to arrange for a show around.

I look forward to meeting you soon.

With very best wishes,

Sophie Lance

I have over 20 years’ experience of working with children and have 2 stepdaughters and 3 grandchildren, so I understand the parents’ perspective too. We have robust recruitment and selection procedures in place and support our staff with their training and development from childcare qualifications to behaviour management and special educational needs training.
